And Foucault?
I only have a few letters, I never met Foucault in person. The worst part for me is that he died before I could meet him. He was the most important of them all for me because he was the most historical. That's why he's the best to use and carry over into other fields. The people who apply Derrida's method to other fields often work like imitators or plagiarists and are for the most part boring. Lacan wasn't so good for appropriating, and besides I wasn't a psychoanalyst. Foucault, however, offers so many concrete methodologies and leaves so many historical fields open that there are endless amounts of work one can do with him. Foucault never expressed himself on the media. He only used the medium library. And that in itself was a breakthrough for me.
